Susanna Rose Miller | Contemporary abstract artist

BA (Hons) Fine art

Susanna is a freelance artist based in Suffolk, England, where she lives with her family in the countryside.

It is in the ‘everywhere’ that Susanna draws her inspiration, the spaces she lives and the architecture of all that is seen; both natural and man-made. Each line, fragment, structure and every space between, has a profound beauty and enticement. Susanna loves to find the chemistry born from these forms and how they interact and interweave with each other. With a passion to capture this brilliance, she translates space and form into tangible, sensory expression. With a pure, uncluttered and well-defined style, her work encapsulates a beautiful and bold translation of the world seen.

Susanna invites the viewer to explore the palpable presence of sweeping brush strokes, layers of texture and mark making. Developed from a collage, print based beginning, these expessions often intuitive and spontaneous bring a beautiful structure and form to her work. Colour is used to reinforce the balance and interaction of space, vibrant and connected, it plays a vital role within her work, transforming spaces into places of beauty and light.

He who works with his hands is a labourer, he who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman, he who works with his hands, his head and his heart, is an artist
